BACK TO BASICS
“Success at almost anything rests upon this single principle: Do the basics, do them well, and do them every day, even when you don’t feel like doing them.”
I received this quote from Matthew Kelly. Even though he is a spiritual writer, this particular saying reminded me about the basics, not just in my personal life but also what is necessary to grow a business.
In our world of daily change we look for new things that will expedite our success. Perhaps there is a new “gimmick” that will lead to instant success, or will eliminate some of the hard work required to reach a vision.
I believe that the basics for a growing business are as follows:
- Have a vision that you believe in, one that creates a burning passion in your heart and mind.
- Have a daily list and complete three things that will lead you closer to your vision. Without knowing what you have to do each day, “things” will get in your way, and at the end of the day you will not be any closer to your vision than at the beginning of the day.
