COMMITMENT
Commitment is one of the most difficult words to apply to our business lives. No matter how important the outcome a commitment can produce, many still find excuses as to why it cannot be adhered to.
There are many definitions to the word commitment: follow through, perseverance, dedication, allegiance, loyalty, responsibility etc. Each of us makes many commitments in our daily lives, everything from committing to obeying traffic laws, to our marriage and our faith.
For the most part, if we live up to our commitments, good things will happen. We understand the consequences of not accepting our responsibilities thus we strive to comply.
Starting and growing a business requires a commitment. It may be the many extra hours that a small business owner has to work or the sacrifices that have to be made while the business grows. Even though creating an income is important as is future retirement, many will not take advantage of the many growth/learning opportunities that become available.
The most important person that a small business owner has to commit to is himself or herself. If you are not important enough to warrant going that extra mile to grow a successful business then you will either fail or work at break-even, at best.
I can site this lack of commitment because we have a 90% failure rate in small businesses. Failure is caused not by not knowing what has to be done, but by not being willing to do what has to be done.
At BizQuack we made a promise to provide tools, that if they are picked up and used, your business can survive, reach profitability and sustainability. To do that you have to make a commitment to yourself that you will make that extra effort to accept the tools.
