DEADLINES. Great tool to get things done!
Deadline is a word that, for the most part, is not favored in the world of small business. However, deadlines play a very useful part in the growth of a small business.
The most important benefit is that deadlines force us into action. It overcomes the procrastination that may have caused one to neglect doing something. It helps us overcome the fear of failure and allows us to take a risk and move forward.
Another benefit is the relief that one feels once that deadline is met. It wasn’t so hard after all; “I should have started it a long time ago. “
Deadlines are meant to be shared. If you set a deadline then tell everyone about it. Promise yourself a reward once the deadline is met, sharing your deadline gives you the energy to get it done.
I’m from the school that believes that nothing is impossible and a deadline gives you a finite amount of time to find a solution to accomplish an action.
Deadlines are best met when they are in writing, and a commitment is made, not just to yourself to meet the deadline, but also to your family, peers and mentors.
The Accountability Tacker (can be downloaded from the Tuesday Challenge section of your dashboard, it’s at the top of the page before the weekly challenges) is one of the best multi-purpose tools in BizQuack and it can easily be adopted to help meet a deadline.
The important message in this blog is to encourage you to set a deadline (time frame) by which you agree to accomplish a specific task. Yes, you can prioritize the one that has to be completed first and then focus on making it happen.
Someone once called deadlines, the life-lines in the world of small business. They are free to use and a great tool. Of course, they don’t work if you don’t.
BizQuack always wants to help you move forward for share your life-lines with us.
