DOING THE “ONE THING”
A recent blog entitled “Desk Top Success Schedule” emphasized the importance of creating powerful habits. You were asked to create a list of the things that you could and should do on a daily basis to increase your customer base. Once the list was prioritized, you were asked to use the 40% marketing rule that BizQuack stresses and fill in that time by starting with you’re the number one habit you wanted to establish, devote the amount of daily time you allocated to it and proceed to the next.
If you started the process when you first read the blog, you are 10% of the way towards establishing “success habits.”
FINDING THE “ONE THING”
Today I am going to add another important part to your success equation and that is to identify the one “thing”, which if accomplished, would make the biggest impact on your bottom line.
Notice I only asked you to select one “thing.” This “thing” can be in any phase of your business from implementing the BizQuack Vision Planning process, to establishing a data base or hiring your first employee. Whatever the “thing” is for your business, it becomes the most important short term goal you have to meet. This is not about establishing “Success Habits.” It’s about improving your business in the area that it needs the most in a short period of time. It’s about achieving/completing your one “thing.”
“When do I find the time to do this?” you ask yourself. Let me assure you that in my 30 plus years of working with small business owners and helping them establish a self-management process, we found a lot of wasted/nonproductive time that we were able to shift to working on their “thing.”
THE POWER OF FOCUS
Our session next Wednesday is all about the power of focus: how to identify your “thing,” how to find the necessary time to devote to your “thing”, and how to develop an action plan to complete your “thing.”
This workshop will be limited to a total of 8 participants and will be held in my office at 6 pm on the evening of October 24th. Reservations will be accepted on a first come first served basis.
Please call Nick at 602-989-1592 or e-mail nick at nick@strategicduck.com if you wish to participate.
