GOALS ARE NOT ONLY FOR BUSINESS
While growing a business it seems that all the goals one sets have to do with business growth and profitability. I am an advocate of having goals and also having a vision for your business, but all aspects of life have to be balanced in order to be truly satisfied.
No, I don’t want you to lose your business focus, but I do want you to think about setting a vision for the other important parts of life. Financial goals are usually tied directly to your business and, if designed correctly, they will include such things as retirement, business and personal reserves.
The rest of the goal setting process is on a more personal level. I recommended having a vision for each of the following:
• Family
• Spiritual
• Physical
• Philanthropic / Community
Write out a vision as you did for your business (see the education tab in the BizQuack dashboard) in each of these four areas. These four visions, along with your business vision make up the five spokes in your wheel of life. When they are all in balance, you will be able to navigate any road that you encounter on your life and business journey.
If the plan doesn’t work, change the plan but never the goal.
