IF YOU COULD….
If you could have a billboard anywhere, what would it say and where would you put it?
Let’s pretend that the only marketing you could do, the only story you could tell about your business would be on that single billboard. A billboard has to be attention getting and must convey a message in just a few words so that they could be read quickly and remembered.
All cities have billboards; granted, a few have more than others, but they do exist. If I were to ask you right now which is the most memorable billboard that you have seen in the past 30 days, what would your answer be?
In the life of a small business owner, everything that happens, from meeting people, handing out a business card, to printing a flyer, has to be memorable; otherwise you will be just like the forgotten billboard.
Let me rephrase the question. What is the most memorable business card you ever received? Do you still have it? I can ask the same question about the most impressive person you have ever met, or the most impressive web site you ever saw, or the most meaningful e-mail you have ever received.
Just as you may not remember a specific billboard, everything you do in your business life has to be about creating memorable and unforgettable moments.
I have one business card that I have saved for many years. It was one that has a real, one dollar Canadian coin encased in it. Today it sits on my desk as a reminder of what I need to keep working towards.
This is not a Tuesday Challenge, but an everyday challenge that each of us must keep in the forefront of our daily activities.
Make it a memorable day!
