IT’S A NEW BEGINNING!
The pride and thankfulness that I experienced on the 4th of July serves as an inspiration for me to take advantage of the gifts that God and our Nation has made available to me. The first half of the year is past history, and I will only focus on what I can accomplish in the present towards reaching my vision.
With six months to reach my goal for 2020 I realize that it is within my grasp but only if I am willing to take the necessary action. That means working harder, being accountable and following a plan.
This past week I have spoken to excited business owners from Mexico City, California, Nevada and Arizona. They included doctors, university professors, and small business owners. The consensus is that we have been afforded a unique opportunity to grow our businesses. It’s not going to be an easy road, but we have the advantage in that we are willing to work while others are waiting for the return to the “old normal” which all of us agreed will not return.
Getting started is the hardest part. Once the wheels get moving, going forward gets easier and easier. This is a good time to look at the foundation section of your Vision Based Business Plan. Pay particular attention to your WHY. I believe that small business owners lose their way when they lose their WHY.
Friends, business acquaintances, and many others often tell you what they think that you should be doing. The COVID-19 has also become a paralyzing factor, just listen to the news. Remember, it doesn’t matter what others “think you should be doing,” or others that tell you it can’t be done. In order to become the winner that YOU will respect and admire … you must have control of the path to your destiny.
From now on, you will be the only one that stands in the way of your growth and happiness.
Judson Cornwall in his book, Treasure in Styrofoam Cups, wrote: “A well-balanced individual does not brood over what he is not; he is too busy applying himself in the areas of what he is. He does not major in his deficiencies but in his sufficiencies. He does not lose much sleep worrying over what he does not possess, for his energies are exerted in properly using what the does own.”
