SALES BASICS
Every small business owner has to be a sales person. The key to success in small business is, to a large degree, based upon your willingness to present your product/service to a potential buyer. I don’t believe that you have to learn a “sales technique” in order to sell. The following are BizQuack’s thoughts on selling:
Know why you are doing what you are doing.
Know and understand the needs of your target market.
Know and believe that what you are offering is of great value to your market.
Understand human behavior. Have the abiliyt to relate, to understand, to listen and to express empathy.
Be yourself in your actions and speech; remember, selling is not a science.
Being motivated to sell is something that comes from within; don’t go looking for motivation from outside sources.
Selling is sharing your why, your story and the benefits you provide. If you don’t believe in your product or service, your target market will not believe.
The secret to growing a business is to start the selling process. Procrastination is an evil that is lurking in the dark side of your brain. The best way to defeat this evil is to commit to going out tomorrow and making a sales presentation.
Remember, if you master the six points referenced above, you will be successful.
