TC: MOVING FORWARD
Action is the key word in today’s challenge. Most everyone agrees that the new normal will be different than the “old normal”. You have a choice, wait and see what everyone else is doing and then take action or start your action steps today.
Your challenge, not just for this week but the rest of your business life, is to follow a disciplined process to discover opportunities to do something different that has impact. There is no step by step procedure that will work for all small business owners; it differs as do your customers and target market.
The blogs that have been posted on BizQuack, the media and perhaps your friends have made you aware of the new trends that are happening in the world. One place to start is by creating a list of all the trends that you have heard about and adding to those with some research on the subject (try google for a start). From that list write down the five trends that you believe will have the biggest effect on your target market.
Next to each identified trend, write a few sentences as to why and how these trends will impact your target market as well as your current customers. Armed with this information, how will you and your services/products help your target market adjust to these new trends? Please note that I included both you as well as your products/services in offering a solution. Thus, create two separate lists. (One covering your personal touch, and the other, the benefits that your service/products offer).
The next step requires taking an internal look at your operation to make sure you can deliver on your promises.
Communicating has always been a critical part of growing a small business. What is the best way to share this information with your customers and target market? This may involve stepping out of your comfort zone as you review your current marketing plan. Identify the necessary action items and set deadlines for the completion and start today.
