THE NEXT MARKETING EVOLUTION
PERSONALIZATION
Technology is opening a lot of new and different marketing opportunities. Personalization, in my opinion is going to become an impactful marketing tool. Another trend that has been mentioned in my blogs is that of creating memorable experiences both with, and the delivery of, our products and services. The two allow us to create a new marketing venue.
Let me define my version of Personalization:
- It means getting more than a name and contact when setting up a data base.
- It also means getting personal information along with business information.
- For Business we can find out:
- Date business was first opened.
- What are the current pains and gains associated with this business?
- Who is their target market?
- What is the owner’s vision?
- Memberships in civic/business organizations
- Charity involvement
- For Personal we can find out:
- Home address
- Birthday
- Hobbies
- Travel/vacation preferences
- Family information
- Favorite food/restaurant
- Favorite sports
- For Business we can find out:
Part of the marketing effort is to add to the above lists as needed. With a little thought you can add another 4 to 6 items in each category.
A little more effort is required to gather all of this information and to feed it into your CRM program. Now you are ready to both personalize and provide positive experiences to your customers and prospects.
Calls on customers and prospects do not always have to be of a “selling nature.” Any of these topics make for good conversation, visiting opportunities and various other contacts. The business side allows you to have a greater understanding of your client and how you present your products/services. The personal side allows you to show that you care; your relationship is deeper than a sale.
Again BizQuack members lead change, not follow it. Be the first to start the personalization process. Not only will you be more appreciated and more talked about, but your client retention will “go through the roof.”
Should we put together a ZOOM call for this?
