Time Management Tools
Small business owners are always on the go and we can all use a little help from time to time. We talk a lot about the importance of time management in order to get the most out of every moment. So we’ve compiled a list of some of the most widely used time management apps out there to help you stay on track.
There are literally hundreds of applications to track time and tasks and all with variations of features, layout, price, device compatibility, etc. It may take a bit of research but well worth your time!
- Remember the Milk “Managing tasks is generally not a fun way to spend your time. We created Remember The Milk so that you no longer have to write your to-do lists on sticky notes, whiteboards, random scraps of paper, or the back of your hand.” Great app to manage everything you have to do. Works with many devices including apple watch, Siri, and Amazon Alexa.
- Focus Booster This app is for procrastinators and people that have anxiety about getting things done. It’s based on the Pomodoro Technique which is a time management method developed by Francesco Cirillo in the late 1980s. The technique uses a timer to break down work into intervals, traditionally 25 minutes in length, separated by short breaks. Track your tasks, time, and understand where your day went.
- Toggl The simplest time tracker to help you get things done. Know how much your time is worth? Break down your hours by projects, clients and tasks to see what’s making you money, and what’s holding you back. Works from browser to phone and everything is synced. Great for team projects too.
- Evernote helps you capture and prioritize ideas, projects, and to-do lists, so nothing falls through the cracks. Manage everything from big projects to personal moments. Capture ideas and inspiration in notes, voice, and pictures. Never lose track of your tasks and deadlines.
These are just a few for you to explore based on your needs and that of your team or company. The idea is to get started with a system. Today’s technology lets us really understand where the day went by tracking where you spent your time while on your computer. You can then make the adjustments you need to be more productive.
Make it a great day!
