SEEING THE FUTURE
“Seeing the future isn’t so difficult when you’re the one creating it.” I don’t know who first said this, but it really can be a rallying point for a new business. Stop and think about cars and planes; when the first car was built there were no roads, no traffic signals and no gas stations. When the first airplane took off there were neither airports nor runways.
Both of these inventions were new and for the most part people did not see how to best use them; a need had to be created in order for those products to succeed. Before these new modes of transportation arrived, people still traveled.
Creating a need for your product or service is not an instantaneous accomplishment. In this day of “instant everything”, a slow growth start may be the key to a future of rapid growth for your company. The best way to do that is to create a following of people who believe in you and in your product/service. This will be your foundation for growth.
Building a following requires you to become a leader, to act like one and to be recognized as one. That requires believing in your product/service and in your ability to market it to your target audience. As a business leader, your primary task is to take your followers to where they have never been before.

We have also discussed some of the methods that can help you achieve the leadership role; as an example, writing a story for publication, teaching a class, speaking to a group, and having a compelling personal story to share your passion and vision, all will help you establish yourself as a leader in your business.
Don’t listen to people that tell you “it can’t be done” or “there is no market for that”. Being a leader and getting followers requires a strong conviction and the ability to demonstrate the future benefits your product/service offers.
