THE SECOND MOST IMPORTANT WORD IN SMALL BUSINESS
Most people rate the word (BizQuack Vision Based Business) Plan as the single most important word in the small business vocabulary. I agree, to some degree. Knowing where you are and where you are going is a necessity. Now take a look at the definition of another word:
Implementation: the process of putting a decision or plan into effect; execution.
A statement that I use often is as follows: The reason why most small businesses fail to achieve their vision is because they don’t do what they know they should do. Many of those neglected ideas did not require funds to implement.
Where would your business be today if you had implemented all the action items that you know would make a difference in your business?
The question is why did you not proceed with the implementation? Take a blank sheet of paper and:
- Write your answer to that question.
- Now describe one important action item that you could but did not implement
- Next describe what the difference would be in your business if you had implemented that idea.
- Think back to that idea, what would have helped you implement that idea? (Don’t tell me lack of funds. Most good ideas don’t require funds or the funds could be found if you were sold on the idea)
If for the next year you hired someone to meet with you every week and between weekly personal visits followed up with you on the implementation of your ideas, how much more profitable would your business be now?
An investment in a coach/mentor may be the most important decision you can make to grow your company.
