Every start-up and every small business owner would like to know how to achieve guaranteed success. If the solution was clearly laid out, then those that follow it can look forward to a bright future. There may not be an absolute guarantee, but I believe that there is a path that is an “almost” guarantee.
One of the biggest problems that small businesses have to solve is to let go of the “old” and to find new ways to creatively solve their customer’s pain points.
By starting every marketing thought with “what if” it will help you do some creative, out of the box thinking. It will help you get away from traditional marketing that everyone uses and allow you to enter into the world of “Disruptive Marketing”.
One definition of Disruptive Marketing is: any creative campaign that breaks out of the typical industry approach and cuts through the noise of today’s marketing. If you keep this definition in mind and refer to it every time you start or develop a marketing campaign, you can evaluate whether or not your plan meets the definition.

By developing a disruptive marketing platform you won’t have to worry about being like everyone else. Your customers will be more open to your message and more than likely, change their perception of your industry. A good example is a call I had from a friend who had to put his car in the shop for several days. His statement was, “It will be me and Uber for the next three days”. In this case, Uber created a new term with their disruptive marketing campaign.
Turn off the radio and TV and give some serious thought as to how you will be “disruptive” as you start marketing your product or service this week.
