BEGIN WITH THE END IN MIND
The second habit written by Stephen R. Covey, in his best-selling book, The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People, is titled “Begin with the end in mind.” He went on to say” To begin with the end in mind means to start with a clear understanding of your destination. It means to know where you’re going so that you better understand where you are now and so that the steps you take are always in the right direction.”
“it’s incredibly easy to get caught up in an activity trap, in the busy-ness of life, to work harder and harder at climbing the ladder of success only to discover it’s leaning against the wrong wall. It is possible to be busy – very busy – without being very effective.”
If you have completed the foundation part of the BizQuack Vision Based Business Plan©, then you have identified your “End Destination.” Your vision, what you want your business to be, should be geared towards benefiting others. Once this is accomplished you can proceed with your marketing action plan, and the key word in the action plan development is CONTENT. Before any action can be taken a Content Marketing Strategy has to be developed. It will serve as the foundation for future action, it can be leveraged across all story channels, print, online, mobile, social media, etc.
Content marketing is the marketing and business process for creating and distributing valuable and compelling content to attract, acquire, and engage a clearly defined and understood target audience.
Content, as defined above, is the basis for establishing an inbound marketing program; it is a marketing methodology that is designed to draw your potential customers in, rather than outwardly pushing your product/service onto prospects in the hope of generating leads or customers. Amusing or informing your target market with content that does not result in lead generation is not accomplishing your goals.
As long as your content marketing addresses your target markets need first, you are on the right track.
The six principles of content marketing are:
- Fill a need.
- Be consistent.
- Be Human.
- Have a point of view.
- Avoid “sales speak.”
- Be the best – deliver amazing value.
MAKE IT A GREAT DAY!
