IT’S EASIER NOT TO DO ANYTHING
Like an ostrich, if we stick our head in the ground, we don’t know what is going on around us and we feel safe.
Not doing things that take some effort or talking yourself into not attending a function because it may not be worth the trouble is a frequent excuse for inactivity. Inactivity translates into “no production” but it does provide a safe secure environment. This safe, secure environment will also help your business to fail.
Your challenge for this week is as follows:
- Make a list of the top three business functions that you dislike the most. It could be cold calling, or attending a lecture or attending a networking session, or listening to a salesperson who claims that they can help your business grow. Your list should consist of outreach action items, not things such as cleaning your office. Whatever your list consists of, the important thing is to create the list.
- Take the three things you dislike doing the most and number them from one to three, number one being the one you dislike doing the most.
- Now schedule a time in the next seven days to incorporate all three items into your activity schedule.
- Last but not least, make sure you do all three things.
Most of our daily challenges are easy. This particular one requires a direct action on your part.
If you don’t want to complete this challenge, take another look as to the WHY of your business. Maybe it’s time to re-evaluate your direction because you may never reach your vision.
I hope that one of the things you dislike doing is attending my classes. Next week’s topic is Time Management and Productivity. Force yourself to make a commitment to attend. It will be held at the Scottsdale Civic Center Library starting at 5:30 pm.
As always, good things happen when you accomplish a task that you did not want to do.
