FORWARD TO NORMAL
This blog is based upon an article written by Dan Bunyan and Vikram Dhaliwal entitled “Forward to Normal“.
I have taken some of their concepts and converted them to the world of small business. There are many unique opportunities in these messages, so do some reading between the lines:) Rather than going back to normal, we may be going forward to normal. The changes in business and lifestyle that we have experienced these last 9 months may remain with us and become even more commonplace.
A good exercise is to start a list of changes that have affected your business and your lifestyle and then highlight those that you believe will remain with us after the Covid-19 pandemic has been conquered.
I know it is always dangerous to make predictions, but unless you think of future possibilities you will fall behind those that make accurate predictions.
The following are for your consideration:
- How people live: People are spending much more time at home – whether they are at work or at leisure. As the boundaries of the world around consumers continue to shrink, people will invest more closer to home, and they will invest more in themselves. The more people stay and work close to home, the more services and products adapt to the new situation, and the more compelling those offerings will be.
- How people discover and engage at home. People will crave large amounts of content — for excitement, diversification, information, or immersion. Consumers will want to navigate and consume content seamlessly.
- The experiences they seek: As consumers’ expectations for depth and quality rise, experiences will have to become more compelling, social and trustworthy.
In these three scenarios there are many hidden opportunities that pertain to all small businesses. How many can you identify for your business? Call BizQuack and let’s talk about them.
