By this time, in the first month of a new year, you have either started working on your goal or procrastinated and never got started. I would venture to say that most of you have “started” to some degree, but perhaps not to the degree that was hoped for in your original projections.
This becomes a pivotal moment for your success in 2021. It’s ok not to be where you hoped to be, but it’s not ok to give up. It’s easy to become disillusioned, a lack of success creates a negative mindset which must be stopped now.
Look at the overall goal you set for 2021. Next pick one easily accomplished task that will get you closer to that goal.
Forget all other tasks that you deemed necessary to reach you goal and work on completing the “easy” task you identified. Insert that task in your daily schedule for tomorrow and promise yourself that you will complete that task, no matter what.
When you have completed that “easy” task, don’t look for another one to start. Instead, reward yourself. At the end of the day select another task, only one, to be accomplished the next day.
In other words, select and complete one small task every day. If the task takes more than one day, break it into daily achievable easy tasks and continue rewarding yourself.
Accountability, other than to yourself, is a necessity for many small business owners. No, it does not mean that you cannot succeed alone; it does mean that you are like so many other successful business owners who discovered the importance of having an accountability or support partner.
Whether you travel alone or with support is your decision. BizQuack is here to be that accountability partner, but you must ask for it.
This year will, in my opinion, provide more opportunities for small business growth than ever before. Where will you be a year from now?
