PERSON TO PERSON
One important goal every small business owner should have is to increase their person to person contacts. The goal is to build relationships not acquaintances. Relationships are built upon an initial story sharing visit and then establishing ongoing contacts at least once a month.
BizQuack is working hard to provide give-working (our term for networking) opportunities over and above our membership. The intent of these meetings is to provide you with a “warm” contact as they are all involved, in some way, with Strategic Duck and Nick Petra. Our goal is to add several open groups that meet at least every other week by the end of 2020.
Currently we have the Grey Hair Entrepreneurs which meet the 2nd and 4th Tuesday of every month at ASU Sky Song from 9am t0 10:30 am. This is both a networking meeting and an educational session. Don’t let the name of the group scare you; it is open to all ages and business owners as well as commission sales people. The group is only several months old and has a lot of growth potential. If you would like to be added to our meeting notice, please let me know.
Another group is the Scottsdale Business Strategy group. To date this has only met for educational sessions on occasion, but we hope to change that to two meetings a month. We currently have two closed groups, BizQuack Success 2020 and the Catholic Business Network. For information on these two groups, please call Nick.
This morning we had a meeting to discuss the possibility of forming permanent peer groups of 7 to 9 members to meet on a monthly basis. The basic format will be a three hour working session under the direction of a mentor/coach. More on this at a future date.
Meeting with new people and creating a relationship is part of your overall marketing program. Set a goal as to how many new people you plan to meet with each week; two people a week for 50 weeks will give you 100 new contacts; and if only a third of them refer business to you, you do the math.
