REMEMBER ME?
When you leave an appointment or a networking event, will anyone remember that you were there?
Let’s face it; small business owners grow their businesses by presenting themselves to prospects or referral sources. Think back to the last three networking sessions you attended. How many names do your remember?
Your job as a small business owner is to create a vivid image in the minds of all you meet. You want an image that distinguishes you from everyone else. You want to be “talked about” by those that meet you. It’s not good enough to be smart and know about your business. That is only the first step in the process for growing a successful and profitable business. The next step is to get out there and tell the world about it in such a way that you will get noticed. In many cases, the way you deliver your story is more important than the message itself.
Each and every marketing outlet needs to be noticed and remembered. From blogs, to your website; from your business card to your brochure; from your e-mail to your social media pages. In other words everything about you and your marketing has to be memorable.
Becoming memorable takes time, a lot of out of the box thinking, consistency, and a willingness to get out of your comfort zone. Where to start? The following are a few suggestions.
- Next time you go to a networking meeting look for the person that stands out from the rest. What are they doing that attracts attention?
- Check out You Tube; look at the videos that went viral.
- Is your business card memorable?
- Is your story memorable?
- Are the benefits you offer unique and memorable?
- Do you look memorable?
- Are you up to date on hot topics and trends?
The best way to get someone to pay attention to you is to find ways to generate a reaction from them. Traditional and conservative marketing efforts just don’t work anymore.
This is a very important topic that needs to be expanded, developed, shared and tested. This will be the topic of a class in the near future.
Accent the unique qualities you have in a BIG WAY!
