TC: YOUR POSITIONING STATEMENT
Your challenge for this week is to write your positioning statement.
A positioning statement is an expression of your business’s strategy. It should be simple and straight forward .Each phrase of your statement conveys your competitive advantage.
- Who you are.
- Why you matter.
- Your company’s role and relevance in your marketplace over the next year. (notice you are working in the future, you are making a promise)
- It should be something that only your business can lay claim to.
- Remember, you can’t be all things to all people.
Your positioning statement can be taken right out of the Foundation portion of your Value Based Business Plan. I hope that all of you have had a chance to review the Business Plan in the education section of the BizQuack Dash Board. If you haven’t finished your business plan, make it a point to complete it before the end of 2019.
The first four items are the most important things to talk about when telling your story. They represent the essence of who you and your company are and why you exist.
For me, a positioning statement has to be a WOW statement. It should leave the listener asking you for more information. Not only is the content important, but your delivery is of equal importance. That means that you are excited, enthusiastic and that you believe in what you are saying.
The careful development of your positioning statement will help set your foundation for a successful 2020.
