TUESDAY CHALLENGE: YOUR FIRST BLOG
Your challenge this week is to create a blog. First, let me define a blog: it’s a communication tool for both your current customers as well as future customers. A blog will keep your current customers abreast as to what is happening in your field of expertise, in your business, as well as in your own personal business life. A blog allows you to reach out to future customers with an informative and engaging message. In short, a blog is a powerful marketing tool which allows you to extend your brand and to interact directly with your prospects and customers.
Blogging is really about three things:
- Telling your customers and prospects what you are doing and finding out what they are thinking.
- It’s a relationship building tool.
- It’s a sharing of the knowledge that you have with those that need your products/services.
The internet is a wealth of information. Start your challenge by going to google and asking questions such as “where do I post a blog?” or “how to write a business blog”. There are many free sites on which to post a blog as well as a few that charge.
Like any other powerful marketing tool, it takes time to learn all the ins and outs of blogging. The secret is to start. The content is the important factor in a blog, not the length of the blog. The other important part of blogging is the consistency; it requires a commitment of at least one blog a week.
A good blog to start with is to share the WHY of what you do. Look in the education section of your dashboard and click on the marketing tab; next click on “Start with Why” and listen to the talk by Simon Sinek.
