TC: TO ACHIEVE A GOAL…
Reaching your ultimate vision first requires reaching many smaller goals.
Your challenge today:
- Review your Vision.
- Next make a list of the most important goals that you have identified that will help you reach your vision.
- From your list, select the most important goal that you have been unable to reach which, in your opinion, will have the biggest impact on your business.
- Now think about this sentence: “To achieve a goal you have never achieved before, you must start doing things you have never done before.”
Reaching what has been in the past an unreachable goal usually requires a behavioral change on your part. (Doing what you have always done and expecting different results, is the first sign of insanity.)
Two things have to happen; first you have to step out of your comfort zone and second, you have to dedicate the necessary time to implement your new action plan. This process may also require you to take some additional risk. To complete this challenge you need to adopt a mindset of urgency and fast growth. In other words, don’t add this challenge to your list of “things to do” at a future time.
Fear is a major factor in what a small business owner will or will not do. As an example, cold calling on prospective customers is one of the tasks that is often avoided. What other things frighten you? Make a list of things that you don’t want to do. I mentioned the word risk. Taking a financial risk is another obstacle. It’s important to be honest with yourself when executing this exercise.
Let your imagination run wild. You want to be noticed and heard; you have a goal to reach and a promise to deliver.
The last key ingredient is finding an accountability partner. Once you have decided on what new and different actions you are going to take, share it. Share what you are going to do, what you expect to happen, your start date and anticipated completion date.
Remember that BizQuack is always available to help you as an accountability partner.
