TC: TRADE ASSOCIATIONS
Almost every profession has a trade association.
Your challenge this week is to find out all you can about your trade association. In most cases your trade association is on the cutting edge of what is happening in your field. There are local as well as state and national associations and they all have something to offer to their members.
In my own case, I was active in a local association and followed that up with participation at a state and national level. The information I gained by attending national conventions helped me to become a leader in my industry in my community. Very few people in my industry attended the state and national conventions, and the information I brought back to my customers helped me to serve them better and more efficiently.
Becoming a leader in your trade association will allow you to learn from others and eventually teach others. It looks great on your resume, and I was able to get business from others parts of the country in the way of referrals.
The rest of your challenge is to join your local association and to become an active participant.
Life doesn’t just happen. It requires our participation.
