TC: UNDERSTANDING YOUR TARGET MARKET
Your challenge for this week is to reflect on your target market and to answer the following questions.
- What do they do?
- How do they do it?
- When do they do it?
- Where do they do it?
- Who do they do it with?
- Why do they do it?
Your product or service has to be directed towards a specific target market. Your goal is to “help people do what they do better.” The current environment has changed the answers to many of these questions; what we knew about our prospects a year ago more than likely has changed.
To put together an effective marketing campaign, across all media, you must first answer these questions. Only when you understand your market can you tell the story about your benefits which will result in a positive reception of your offering.
To make this challenge work you have to identify specifically who your target market is. Part of the benefit that this challenge offers is a requirement to really focus on a market that has similar needs.
Marketing to the entire world with the hope that your specific market finds you is not a very effective marketing plan. To complete your challenge review your marketing process in light of the answers to these questions and make the necessary adjustments.
