I want to add another short sentence to this quote: “and the actions you take.”
Every small business owner is in the people business; that requires you meeting the right people and sharing your story. A simple starting point is for you to make a list of 5 people that can benefit your business. The next step is to have the courage and positive self-image to meet them. The following suggestions will help when you connect: Give Value, Tell Truths, Know Knowledge, Have Answers, Tell Stories, Tell How, Find Links, Be There and Be Friends. These connection suggestions are how you should manage your data base of potential customers and also current customers who can give you referrals and introductions.
Books give birth to ideas which in turn inspire you and lead you to action. A book becomes yours and you can underline it, write in the margins and keep it in a visible place to remind you to go back and look at it. A book is permanent, unlike attending a seminar or reading something on line.
Books require a commitment. Unless it is read and studied it has no value. In the area of marketing and overall business management I believe that everything that you need to achieve success is in a book. In my blogs I have shared many excerpts from very informative books and have also included the book title and author. With a few key touches you can have a book shipped directly to you.
